How the KNKE Swirl Flow meter Works
The flow sensor’s design mimics the profile of a Venturi tube. A set of spiral guide blades at the inlet directs the fluid into a swirling motion. As the fluid enters the diffuser section, it experiences secondary rotation due to backflow, forming a gyroscopic vortex precession. This precession frequency directly correlates with the flow rate, independent of fluid properties and density.
The sensor measures this frequency, which is then amplified, filtered, and converted into a pulse signal proportional to the flow velocity. These signals, along with temperature, pressure, and other readings, are processed by the microprocessor and displayed on the LCD screen, providing real-time data on flow, temperature, and pressure.
