Insertion Electromagnetic Flowmeter

Description

KNKE’s Insertion Electromagnetic Flowmeter is designed to measure the volume flow of conductive liquids with a conductivity greater than 5μS/cm. This advanced meter operates based on Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction, providing high-precision measurement for a wide range of fluids, including strong acids, alkalis, slurries, and suspensions. It is commonly used in industries such as oil, chemical, food, metallurgy, and environmental protection.

How the KNKE Insertion Electromagnetic Flowmeter Works

The KNKE flowmeter works based on the principle of electromagnetic induction, specifically Faraday’s law. In this system, the conductive liquid flowing through the meter cuts across a magnetic field generated by two electromagnetic coils. This movement generates an induced voltage, which is directly proportional to the flow rate. Two electrodes within the meter measure the induced voltage, providing an accurate flow measurement.

The induced voltage (E) is calculated as follows:

E=K×B×V×DE = K \times B \times V \times D

Where:

  • E – Induced voltage
  • K – A coefficient that depends on the magnetic field and axial length
  • B – Magnetic flux density
  • V – Average velocity of the conductive liquid
  • D – Distance between the electrodes (diameter of the pipe)

The induced voltage is sent to a transmitter, which processes and displays both instantaneous and cumulative flow data. The system offers various output options including 4-20mA, pulse/frequency, and communication protocols such as RS-485, HART, and Modbus.

Key Features of the KNKE Flowmeter

  • Reliable and Accurate: Digital processing ensures accurate measurements with high precision and a flow measurement range of 150:1.
  • Wide Power Supply Range: The flowmeter supports a broad range of power supplies and offers excellent EMI resistance.
  • Fast Processing: Equipped with a 16-bit microprocessor, the meter processes data quickly with minimal power consumption.
  • No Moving Parts: The design eliminates the need for moving parts, reducing the risk of wear and tear. This feature also ensures minimal pressure loss during measurements.
  • Flexible Configuration: Users can adjust the flowmeter range on-site based on specific requirements.
  • Unmatched Accuracy: The flow measurement is independent of variables such as flow profile, pressure, temperature, density, and viscosity.

Enhanced Display and Communication Options

The KNKE Insertion Electromagnetic Flowmeter features a high-resolution LCD display with a backlight, providing easy-to-read flow data. The interface is simple to use with a fully Chinese-language menu. Additionally, the flowmeter offers several communication outputs including RS-485, RS-232, HART, and Modbus.

For added convenience, it also includes an infrared handheld remote (optional), allowing non-contact operation from a distance. This makes it easier to manage all functions without physical interaction.

Customization Options for Various Applications

The flowmeter is highly customizable to meet specific industry needs. You can select from different linings (such as rubber or PTFE) and temperature ranges, depending on the type of fluid and environmental conditions.

Key Customization Options:

  • Lining Materials: Available in rubber or PTFE for various fluid types.
  • Temperature Range: The meter is suitable for fluids with temperatures ranging from -30°C to +180°C.
  • Pressure Range: Accommodates different pressure levels for varying pipe sizes and flow requirements.
