Operating Precautions for Pneumatic Valves

Pneumatic valves are essential components in various industrial systems, controlling the flow of compressed air to actuate machinery and processes. Proper operation and maintenance are crucial to ensure efficiency and safety. Below are key considerations for operating pneumatic valves:

1. Opening the Valve:

  • Lubrication Check: Before operation, verify that the oil reservoir on the air filter regulator is adequately lubricated.
  • Pipeline Inspection: Ensure that the pipelines are clean. If debris is present, it’s advisable to install a pipeline filter before the valve to prevent contamination.
  • Control Point Adjustment: Set the control point appropriately to ensure accurate valve operation.
  • Pressure Adjustment:
    • Piston-Type Valves: Adjust the air source pressure to 0.4–0.7 kg/cm².
    • Diaphragm-Type Valves: Adjust the air source pressure to 0.1–0.2 kg/cm².
  • Electrical Signal Configuration: Connect and adjust the electrical signal (voltage or current) to the valve as required.
  • Opening Adjustment: Set the valve opening to the desired position, ensuring it aligns with operational requirements.

2. Closing the Valve:

  • Signal Disconnection: Disconnect the control signal (voltage or current) to cease valve operation.
  • Pressure Relief: Adjust the air filter regulator to zero pressure to ensure the valve is fully closed and to prevent unintended operation.

Additional Considerations:

  • Regular Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure all components, including filters and regulators, are functioning correctly.
  • Safety Protocols: Always adhere to safety guidelines during operation and maintenance to prevent accidents and equipment damage.

By following these guidelines, operators can ensure the reliable and safe performance of pneumatic valves in various applications.
