Description
The KNKE High Precision Electromagnetic Flow Meter is an advanced and highly reliable instrument designed to measure the volume flow of conductive media in closed pipelines. Using embedded microcontroller technology for digital excitation and CAN field bus technology, it meets domestic industry standards, offering high precision with an accuracy of 0.2%. The flow meter can measure over a wide range of 1500:1, making it suitable for a variety of industrial applications where precise flow measurement of conductive fluids is required.
Working Principle
The KNKE electromagnetic flow meter operates based on Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction. The measurement tube, made from a non-magnetic alloy with an insulating lining, houses two electrodes along the pipe’s diameter. As a conductive fluid flows through the pipe, it cuts through the magnetic field generated by excitation coils, inducing a voltage proportional to the magnetic flux density, flow velocity, and pipe diameter. The induced voltage is detected by the electrodes and sent to a converter, where it is processed to display the flow rate and output various signals like pulse signals and analog currents for control and monitoring.
Material Selection
The material selection for the electrodes and grounding rings is crucial and depends on the corrosiveness of the measured media. Users should select materials according to corrosion resistance manuals or by performing custom tests for complex media such as mixed acids. Typically, the electrode material should be of a higher grade than the material of the pipeline to ensure durability. In cases where the pipeline is made from metal and has no insulating lining, a grounding ring may not be necessary.
